With heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at the Northside General Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Born in North Sydney, he was the son of the late William and Catherine Burton.
He was employed for 46 years at Angel Manufacturing in North Sydney.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and long walks in the woods. He had a love of woodworking and enjoyed yearly family camping vacations.
Norm is survived by his children, Judy (Herb) Watters, Jack (Darlene) Burton, Betty Mansfield, Pauline Burton, Brenda (Russie) Gordon; grandchildren, Lea-ann (Sheldon) Stone, Jim, Kelly (Marc) MacDougal, Mark (Sienna) Watters, Danielle (Josh) Burton, Ryan Mansfield, Rob (Caelin) Gordon and Jen (Adam) Gordon; his great-grandchildren, Kayla, Haley, Luke, Lily and Jack. He is also survived by his sisters, Ruth and Carol; brother-in-law, Fraser (Red) Way; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Elva (Way) Burton, son, Jimmy, grandson, Kyle Burton in infancy, son-in-law Lawrence Mansfield, four sisters, Clara, Edna, Dorothy and Marjorie, two brothers, Bill and Gord.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations made be made to St. John the Baptist Anglican Church.
He will live on in our hearts forever.
