Brian Frederick Graves - 49, of Kentville, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Frederick and Marguerite (Porter) Graves. He had been employed with Ron Illsley Motors, Sun Valley Nissan, Aeromark, Kentville Research Station, K. B. Clarke Fire Restoration and in the maintenance department of Kentfield Estates. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, especially wrestling with them and telling them stories. He is survived by his partner, Christine Hannam; children, Nicholas Brian Davidson-Graves and Sarah Lynn Davidson; step-children, April Dauphinee, Charlotte and Amber Milner; grandchildren, Ethan, Cohen, Keygan, Jacob, Sierra and Declan; sisters, Carol Graves, Lillian (Donald) Sanford and Susan (James) Hines; brothers, Richard (Eleanor) Graves, Paul (Debbie) Graves, Michael (Susan) Graves and Lawrence (Wendy) Porter. He was predeceased by a sister, Edith Wentzell. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in the White family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Doctor Judith Saunders officiating. Burial took place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Lung Association.
