Gladys Catherinea Fraser (nee Cook)

Gladys Catherine Fraser (nee Cook)

Gladys Fraser passed away at Misericordia Community Hospital on 2013 January 6, at 77 years of age. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Misericordia Hospital for their care and attention during this difficult time.

Gladys was born in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia to parents Elsie and Lewis Cook and was part of a large and loving family with several brothers and sisters including Charlie (Rita), Lawson (Sharon), Foster, Myrtle (George), James (Blanche), and Kenneth (Karen). Gladys was pre-deceased by her brothers Raymond (Peggy), Chester (Doreen), and sister Isabel.

Gladys worked very hard all her life and had a wonderful sense of humour. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by Rod Fraser, her husband of 57 years. Gladys and Rod have three children, daughter Tania, and sons Dwaine (deceased) and Rod (Pauline). Gladys has several grandchildren she loved and thought of often, Jason (Lindsay) and Ryan (Wendy), children of Dwaine and Diane; Matt, Jon and Catherine, children of Rod and Pauline. She was very excited about the arrival of her first great-grandchild born Dec. 2, Robert Lee Fraser.

A Memorial Service will be held later in the year in Nova Scotia, which is where many of Gladys’ family still reside.

Gladys had a very generous spirit, and gave to several charities during her lifetime. If friends so desire memorial donations can be made in her memory to the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation in Edmonton (www.stollerykids.com).
