Passed peacefully away on January 30, 2013 at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A. Miller Centre, surrounded by his loving family, Doug Murphy, aged 56 years. Predeceased by his father, Jack and father-in-law, Tom Pitt. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 34 years, Cathy (Pitt); his devoted and caring son Nick; his loving mother Eva; brothers: Dave (Ann) and Ron (Valerie); mother-in-law: Ethel Pitt; sisters-in-law: Marg (Gary Dinn), Jennifer (Keith Young), Susan (Chris Power) and Karen Bishop; brother-in-law John Pitt (Colleen); special cousin, Jackie Tilley as well as a circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. At Doug’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel.
