BROWN, Jean Alice - 66, of Martock, Hants Co., passed away peacefully Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor, she was the daughter of the late Harold Withrow and Marjorie (Frail) Ettinger. Jean was a 4H leader for 30-plus years and spent over 20 years as a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed spending hours with children and when she wasn’t doing that she loved knitting, cross-stitching and sewing. Jean is survived by her husband, Malcolm P. Brown; daughters, Beth Brown-Carver (Kenneth Carver), Upper Vaughans; Mandy Brown, Martock; grandchildren, Kevin Brown, Jessica and Briana Carver; brother, Keith (Marlene) Wilson, British Columbia and Arizona. Arrangements were entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317), where the family received visitors from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 31. Funeral service took place 1 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Karen Lynch officiated. A reception followed in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment was held in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix. Donations in memory of Jean may be made to any local 4H club or the 11th North Chemo Unit, VG Site, QEII.
