Ches left on yet another trip on February 3, 2013 at 2 p.m., this time for Heaven. Barbara, his wife of 57 1/2 years, plans to join him later. Pleasant and precious memories are left for his children: Lois, Lyndon (Kathryn, nee Evans), Edward (Margo, nee Stead); grandchildren: James, David, Jacob, Annie and Olivia; brother Allan; sisters: Emma and Ada K. as well as numerous extended family members and many friends. Educator by vocation and passion, Ches was a faithful and loyal Salvationist, and had many interests as an avid fisher, gardener, musician, ornithologist, amateur painter, and genealogist among other things. Visitation will be held at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday February 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Temple, Torbay Road. Interment will occur in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road, on Saturday February 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. Donations in Ches’s memory may be made to the charity of one's choice or flowers are gratefully accepted.
