Frank Fahey

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, Frank Fahey, on Feb. 6, 2013.
Born Feb. 22, 1922, he was a son of the late James and Sarah Fahey.
In his younger years, he worked as a coal miner in No. 18 colliery, and later became a member of Local 682 Pipefitters of which he has been with for the last 45 years.
Frank was an avid member of St. Leonard’s parish. He loved to go to church and talk to everyone he met. He also enjoyed watching hockey and baseball on TV. Spending time with his family, however, was his main joy. Frank was known for helping those in need, whether he knew them or not; he will be missed by all.
Left to mourn are his sons, Frankie (Sharon), Wendell (Bertha), Bobby (Andrea), Darell (Stephanie); daughters, Francine (Earl), Debbie (Dave); grandchildren, Frankie, SueAnne, Jenny, Matthew, Bobby, Michael, Jimmy, Kevin, Francis, James, Kyle, Emma, Kayla, Jalen, Kirk; great-grandchildren, Jessie, Devon, Zack, Savannah, Isabella, Fria; sisters-in-law, Emily Fahey, Annie McNeil, Bonnie Purdy, Phobe Fahey, Ca Fahey and Marguerite Fahey; brother-in-law, Wallace Tighe; former daughter-in-law, Jean Fahey.
Frank was predeceased by the love of his life, Ramona Fahey, son, Kevin Fahey, brothers, Willie, Alphonse, Joe, Mickey, Jimmy and Bernie, sisters, Carmella, Veronica and Mary Joe.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Monday, Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Victoria, with a luncheon to follow at St. Leonard's Parish Hall, Convent Street, New Waterford.
