Margaret Jane Shaw

Margaret Jane Shaw, 92, passed away peacefully at Northside General Hospital on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013. She was the last member of her family.
Born June 21, 1920, in Tarbotvale, Victoria County, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Dinah MacLeod.
She married her husband, Dan Shaw in 1938 and lived in Tarbotvale until moving to Englishtown.
She spent many happy years in Englishtown where she was an active member and elder of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church. She moved to North Sydney due to ill health with her daughter and son-in-law. She was an active participant at the senior day program at Harbour View, Sydney Mines, for the past 15 years.
She will be sadly missed by her church family at St. Giles, North Sydney, as well as her special friend, Norma McAdam.
She is survived by her only daughter, Evelyn (Elliott) Anderson, North Sydney; grandchildren, Raymond (Wanda) Anderson, Belle Cote, Donna (Ivan) Buchanan, Calgary; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Adam (Anita), Terra (Jordan), Kyle (Amber), Samantha (Kyle), Leah (Tim), Steven (Ashley); great-great-grandchildren, Hailey, Cullen, Addison, Becca; also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dan Shaw in 1991, an infant sister, brothers, Willie and Danny.
Heaven has another angel with Margaret Jane.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, North Sydney, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Campbell Street, North Sydney. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, River Bennett, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret Jane’s memory are suggested to the Harbour View senior program.
