Olive Cheverie

PICTOU – Olive Patience Cheverie, of Pictou, passed away February 10, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Pictou, she was the daughter of the late George Henry Elliott Anderson and Mary Josephine Griffin Anderson.
A lifetime member of Stella Maris Parish, she was also a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a hospitality minister, an interviewer at the food bank, and a volunteer at the Shiretown Nursing Home. Olive was a very compassionate and kind person, very dedicated to her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Patricia, Timmins, Ontario; granddaughters, Kim Bently, Scotland and Stephanie, Truro; brother, John D., Pictou; cousins and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Peter; brothers, Charles and Stewart; sister Mary Elizabeth Gillis.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Thursday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday from the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Pictou. Burial will be in the Seaview Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
