It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charlene Borden on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Gilbertha (Boutilier) Bailey.
Charlene enjoyed decorating her house and spending time with her family. She and Roy took great pleasure in walking and dancing.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Roy Borden; children, Roy (Nancy), Charlotte (Blair), Kevin (Linda); sister, Sylvia (raised like her daughter) mom’s special angel; siblings, Gilbertha, George, Jimmy and Vivert; seven grandchildren, Tammy, Dawn, Roy, Cahl, Kevin, Shayne, Ashley; five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by siblings, Jeanette, Guy and Cecil.
At Charlene’s request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass celebrating her life will be held on Monday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. in St. Anne’s Church. The Rev. Leo Boone will be officiating.
