GAUDET, GEORGES - Georges R. Gaudet of St-Joseph passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont university hospital center on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the age of 56 after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease. Born on April 6, 1956 in St-Joseph, he was the son of the late Thomas Gaudet and the late Rita Cormier. His passions were golfing and volunteering with many organizations, especially l’Atelier l’Artisan. He was a councillor with the Village of Memramcook from 2008-2012. He is survived by his four sisters: Lucille (Ronald) LeBlanc of Cormier’s Cove, Huberte Gaudet (Nicole Landry) of St-Joseph, Jacqueline (Jean-Guy) LeBlanc of Dieppe, Josette Gaudet (Florent LeBlanc) of Cormier’s Cove; his two brothers Francis and Raymond both of St-Joseph and by five nieces and nephews: Rémi (Rachelle), Marc-André, Véronique (Alex), Danika and Sonia.
Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, Memramcook on Tuesday, February 19 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday, February 20 from 9:30 to 10:20 am. Funeral mass will be held at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Memramcook East on Wednesday, February 20 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held at Saint Thomas de Memramcook cemetery, St-Joseph. The family wishes to thank the personnel of 4F, the team of nephrologists, the personnel of the dialysis department and the personnel of palliative care unit of the Dr. Georges L. Dumont university hospital center for the excellent care given to Georges.
