Passed peacefully away after a 30 year battle with cancer Adrian Thomas McCarthy, predeceased by his parents: Tom & Nellie McCarthy. Adrian was a loving husband to Linda McCarthy (Barrett) and a proud and adoring Daddy to his little miracle, Sara. He was a devoted and loving father to Amber (Dean), and especially cherished his two little grandsons: Kyle and Drew. Also leaving to mourn his mother and father-in-law: Olive & Ray Barrett; sisters: Mary (Bern) Cahill, Kay (Dale) Sudom; brothers: Richard McCarthy, Justin McCarthy and Steve (Maureen) McCarthy; sister-in-law Karen (Gary) Smith and brother-in-law David (Marilyn) Barrett. Adrian also leaves behind many very special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Roger Butler for his care and kindness over the last few weeks. We would also like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Miller Centre and the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center especially Dr. Brent Tompkins, Dr. Joy McCarthy, Dr. Craig MacIssac, Suzy Power RN and Cheryl Boone RN. Linda would also like to especially thank niece Kathy Fitzgerald for her unwavering support and dedication during these past few months. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave, Mount Pearl, from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013.
