Though a year has passed without you here,
Your presence was felt throughout the year.
And despite our sorrow, heartache, and tears,
We somehow always felt you near;

And when casting a line;
A hot cup of tea;

A well-delivered joke;
A first-rate hand;
In the presence of a good husband,
Father, and man.
Though your absence is difficult to bear,
In so many moments we yearn to share;
Your love endures though you aren’t here.
