Atwood Ernest Johnson, age 88, of Hants Border, Kings County, passed away peacefully on February 14th, 2013, at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Atwood was born in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, on October 30, 1924, he was the son of the late Orrin and Marjorie (Mitchell) Johnson. Atwood served in the RCAF during World War II. He was an entrepreneur and spent the majority of his life self-employed owning and operating several businesses. Atwood is survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlotte (Maynard); beloved sons, Byron and Mark; cherished daughters-in-law, Susan and Michelle; grandsons, Ian (Jemma), Warren, Justin and Nathan; granddaughters, Claire (Jonathan) Crossley and Molly; great-grandchildren, Neva Johnson and Owen Crossley. He is also survived by brothers, Orrin (Barbara), Eric (Betty), Gary (Hazel); sisters, Dorothy (Victor) Page, Marion (Donald) Lane, Kathleen (Graham) Greenough, Ann (Chuck) Beckerleg; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Faith Elaine; brother, Phillip and sister, Janet Campbell. There was no visitation by request. A service was 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Hantsport, with a reception immediately following at the church hall. The Rev. Tom Henderson officiated. Interment will be held at a later date in the St. James Anglican Cemetery, Centre Rawdon, Hants County. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Atwood were requested to be made to the Hantsport & Area Community Food Bank Society (35 Williams St., P.O.
