Lillian Rebecca Bray, a resident of the Cove Guest Home, formerly, Victoria Road, Ashby, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Baxter and Leah (Russell) Quinton.
Lillian was a member of Christ Church, Sydney and formerly employed in the front office at Sydney Steel. Lil was a feisty lady with a great sense of humour and a very keen fashion sense. In her younger years, she was well-known for her red hair and also, her love of animals, especially her dog Nikki. Lillian enjoyed crocheting and was brilliant at making her own unique designs of sweaters and lace table cloths. She loved a good tarabish game and a good drink. Lillian was a very special lady with a personality all her own and will be missed very much by those close to her.
Surviving are her son, Wayne (Nyla), Ont.; sister, Louise Rea, Rexdale, Ont.; grandchildren, Andree (Wade) Quinton-Shaw, Troy (Debbie) and Cole; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Clark (Chris), Kristopher Clark, Catherine Shaw and Matthew Quinton and many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was predeceased by her loving husband, Walter; sister, Marguerite ‘Snooks’ Gillis; brother, Max. Lillian was also predeceased by her lifelong friend and neighbour, Marion MacPhee.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Cove Guest Home or the Canadian Cancer Society.
