It is with much sadness that I announce the sudden death of my beloved brother, Stephen Gerard Thomas, in Dartmouth on Feb. 16, 2013.
He was born in Halifax on April 9, 1945, the son of the late Steve and Mae (MacIntyre) Thomas.
He is survived by his sister, Sarah ‘Sally’ Thomas and her husband, Peter Hansen of Ontario; his maternal aunt, Kay (MacIntyre) Currie; his paternal aunt, Nan (Thomas) Gillis; his stepsister, Donna Walker and his good friend and cousin, Elizabeth Gillis, all of Cape Breton. He is also survived by many cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his stepmother, Irene (Kelly) Thomas.
Prior to his retirement he worked as a chemical technologist for 26 years at InNovacorp and its predecessor, the Nova Scotia Research Foundation. His passions were music, books and astronomy.
My brother was a good decent man who treated people kindly, fairly and with respect. He was a good brother and friend to me and I will miss him till the end of my days.
Cremation has taken place and at his request there will be no service.
