Eric Latimer
Lieu de naissance : Arichat
Date de naissance : 27 décembre 1929
Date de décès : 20 février 2013
Passed away peacefully in Sydney, N.S., surrounded by his loving wife, Juanita and daughters, Katherine and Debby.
Eric was born and grew up in Arichat, N.S., the fourth of five children of Irving and Dorothy.
He joined the Royal Bank of Canada in 1947, at the age of 18, and retired 40 years later in 1987, as vice-president, retail banking, Ontario, West.
While he spent much of his banking career in Toronto and Montreal, his first love, and the place he called home, was Cape Breton. Eric and Juanita returned there in 1989 following his retirement, where he enjoyed many happy years fly-fishing in Newfoundland and Labrador, hunting at his camp at Big Brook in Margaree, fishing with his friends and spending time on his boat “About Time.”
Eric will be remembered by his family as a kind, fair and adventurous man, who loved animals and had a wonderful sense of humour.
Eric was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Ted and Russell and his sister, Marjorie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, followed by a funeral service on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Church of Christ the King on George Street at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eric's memory can be made to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
