William 'Bill' Shepherd

On Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2012 our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Bill Shepherd entered into the presence of his Lord, whom he loved and served.
Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late William and Jessie (McEwan) Shepherd. He was faithful to the Lord at the Westside Bible Chapel and the Margaree Baptist Church.
Before his retirement in 1975, Bill was supervisor for Kraft Foods Canada in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
Bill is survived by his two daughters, Marie (Doug) Phillips, Sydney, Bev (Fred) Gordon, Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Denise (Michael) MacIsaac, Heather (Dwight) Houston, Ondra (Paul) Dejager; nine precious great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Mary Woodill, Lee MacDougall and Hazel MacDougall, as well as, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Margie (MacDougall) Shepherd.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Northside Community Guest Home for all the care and compassion given to our dad.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb, 23, 2013, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with Pastor Hugh Morrison officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northside Community Guest Home or a charity of one’s choice.
