Lydia Marie Ryan (nee Hynes)

Lydia Marie Ryan (nee Hynes)

Date de décès : 20 février 2013

June 25, 1939 – February 20, 2013
She held our tiny, fragile hands when we first entered this world, and we, her two daughters, along with her baby sister, held her gentle, loving hands as she left. Our Mom raised us to be compassionate, gentle, optimistic, confident, courageous women. We have respect, faith, enthusiasm, tolerance, and strength because of our role model, Mom, who truly ‘lived’ her life to the fullest. Her zest for life, and all of its adventures, made those fortunate enough to spend time with her yearn to do more, see more, and experience more. She made life an adventure, which she willingly shared with those who could keep up with her. To her family, she was the epitome of pure, unconditional love. She was lovingly and gently taken to Heaven by the angels who passed before her: her father and mother Edward and Bridget Hynes, her brother and sister-in-law John Will and Angie, her mother and father-in-law, Mary Ann and William Ryan; and her son-in-law, Kenneth Hickey. She leaves beautiful memories for her heartbroken family: husband John; daughters: Darlene (Jean-Claude Derible) and Rolanda; grandchildren: Chantelle (David Keen), Declan, and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Riley and Noah; sister and companion adventure-seeker, Sharon; brothers: Edward (Marg), Reg (Mary), and Hughie (Anna); Uncle, Willie Hynes; best friend, Margaret Coffey; and attentive friends and care-givers, Berkley Reynolds, George Ebsary, and Andrew Williams. Mom will be dearly missed by this circle of love, as well as a much larger circle of extended family and friends both in NL and in other parts of North America. While we weep for our loss, the mere mention of her name will forever bring a smile to every person she ever encountered on her journey through life. She was truly ‘Beautiful’. To share memories of her life, you may visit Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Saturday, February 23rd or Sunday, February 24th, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral to be held at St. Patrick’s Church, Patrick Street, at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 25th. Flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made in her honor to the Lung Association.

Mom, we will love you and miss you forever. Until you come to take our hands once again, to bring us home with you, you will live on in a sacred place in our hearts. With all our sincere gratitude for all you have given us, we say, Thank-You. Darlene and Rolanda.
