It is with deepest sympathy we announce the passing of our father, James Arthur Milley, at Celtic Court on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013.
Born in Glace Bay, April 21, 1923, he was the son of the late William and Emily (Snow) Milley.
He worked for Devco 43 years until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Church, Donkin.
James is survived by his son, Jimmy (Gladys), Glace Bay, and daughter, Patricia (Winston) Caines, Sydney Forks; grandchildren, Blair Milley and Jimmie Milley, Ottawa, Jillian Caines, Grand Cayman Islands, Stephen Caines, Iqualuit; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Joshua Milley, Ottawa. He is also survived by brothers, Francie (Evelyn), David (Beryl), Al, Ken, Hube (Beatrice); sister, Abe as well as many nieces and nephews.
James was predeceased by his loving wife, May of 67 years in 2011, and also by daughter, Gloria at the age of two. He was also predeceased by brothers, Fred, John, William, Absolom and Thomas in infancy, sisters, Margaret, Hazel, Naomi, Mary and Janet.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St. Glace Bay. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Nancy Whitney Latham DLM officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke’s Cemetery at a later date.
