NEW GLASGOW – Clifford MacLellan Clark, age 93, of Victoria Ave., New Glasgow, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital.
Born in Stellarton, he was a son of the late David M. and Agnes (Fleury) Clark.
He was a former coal miner, retired from Ultramar (Texaco) after 29 years as an oil truck driver and he and his brother Ray operated a landscaping business. He served with the Canadian Army during WWII. He was a member of Trinity United Church. Cliff was a member of Friends of the Museum of Industry, Ducks Unlimited, Pictou County Adult Skaters and the 55 Plus Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Eden Lake.
He is survived by a daughter: Ellen (Scott) Kirwan, New Glasgow; granddaughter: Angela Kirwan (Roger Lucas); great grandchildren: Alyssa, Baileigh and Ariah, New Glasgow; sisters-in-law, June Clark; Marion (Patrick) Kelly; brother-in-law, Jim Russell; numerous nieces and nephews; best friend and neighbour, Warren MacDonald.
He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (Russell); sisters: Elizabeth, Ellen, Pauline, Dorothy, Mary and Frances; brothers: William, Raymond, Roy, Ralph, Robert and one in infancy.
Visitation 6-9 p.m. Friday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, from where funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Dr. Norman Marple officiating. Burial will be in Abercrombie Cemetery at a later date.
