The interment service was held at South Imanuel Cemetery in the Cadillac District. Clarence is survived by his brothers Willard (Sharlene) Haakensen of Stony Plain, A.B., Arnold (Pat) Haakensen of Medicine Hat, A.B.; sisters Mabel (Tom) Kendall of Cadillac, Sk., Verna (Edgar) Prive of Lethbridge, A.B., Barb (Allen) Evesque of Cadillac, SK. and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Louis and Wilma Haakensen, sister and brother-in-law Bev and Chester Smetaniuk, grandparents Thorvold and Martha Haakensen, Al and Lillie Barton, nephew Travis Kendall and numerous aunts and uncles. Clarence was born on February 23, 1942 at Bradley's Nursing Home, south of Cadillac. He attended school at Boule Creek. Clarence worked for some farmers in the area. In 1957 he was in a car accident. This totally changed his life and left him with a considerable handicap. He later worked for Friggstad Manufacturing at Frontier Sk. from 1975-1978. Clarence loved to look at magazines and newspapers and would always read the vehicle ads, searching for a good deal on a Ford, which in his opinion was always the best. Family and friends were always important to Clarence and he really enjoyed spending time and visiting with them. Clarence was fifteen years old when he was in a car accident and in a coma for several more months. He had to learn how to do everything again such as walking, talking, ect. As a result of his handicap, he went to rehabilitation centre in Saskatoon and Swift Current for a while. In 1984, he went to Lethbridge and lived with Verna and Edgar. Later he moved into a place of his own, until he was unable to live independently. In 2010 he moved to Legacy Lodge where he remained until his passing. In his memory, memorial donations may be made to the Cadillac Community Hall or Lethbridge Family Services, Dacapo Program. Clarence will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
