LEGACY, JOSEPH ALFRED "FRED" - Peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on April 3, 2013, Mr. Joseph Alfred “Fred” Legacy of Lepreau, NB. Born at Jacquet River, NB on April 15, 1940, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Guitard) Legacy. A loving father, grandfather and brother, he is survived by two daughters; Tina (Neill) Campbell of St. George, NB and Tracey (Robert) Johnson of Masstown, NS, one son, Trevor Legacy (Melissa McLane) of Truro, NS, two stepchildren; Lorraine Augustine (Mike Bernard) of Truro, NS and Dora Lee Paul (Ross Marr) of Indian Brooke, NS, grandchildren; Courtney and Jeremy Campbell, Cassandra Johnson, Keelyn McLane, McKenna Legacy, Tarran Legacy, Troy and Michael Cook and Cody and Coral Paul, five brothers; Walter Legacy and Lester (Kaye) Legacy both of Lepreau, Henry (Brenda) Legacy of Blacks Harbour, NB, James (Danielle) Legacy and Jack Legacy both of Quebec, three sisters; Margaret Pitre (Byron Patterson) of St. George, Mary Legacy of Ontario and Agnes Legacy of Nova Scotia and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother Joey. Prior to his retirement, Fred worked as a truck driver, labourer and worked for Morris Meats for 25 years. He was a real people person who enjoyed to take part in a conversation. Fred had a wonderful sense of humor and he loved to tell or hear a good joke. He will be fondly remembered as an animal lover and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
As keeping with Fred’s wishes there will be no visiting. A service will be held from the St. Margaret’s Anglican Church, Lepreau, NB on Saturday at 11:00 am with Rev. Jonathan Springthorpe officiating followed by the interment at the Lepreau Community Cemetery. Family flowers only please. In Fred’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
