BUCHANAN, E. M. SHEILA - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ethel Marion Sheila Buchanan (Stewart) of Bairdsville, NB. She passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Sheila was born in Lougestown, Northern Ireland on April 13, 1925. She moved to Canada with her parents, the late William John and May (Harris) Stewart and family in April 1930. She leaves behind her daughters Barbara Day (Darrell) of Chipman, Rose McAloon-MacLeod (Stewart) of Burlington, ON, Marilyn Buchanan-Mijatovic (Petar) of Edmonton, AB, Susan Kinney (Perley) of Terrace, BC; sons Robert Buchanan of Moncton, Alan Buchanan (Jean) of Chipman; sister Isabel Craig of Armond, NB; brother James Stewart of Bristol, NB; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, four extended grandchildren, and three extended great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, church family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Fred Buchanan; sister Florence Bartlett; brothers Richard and William Stewart Jr.; infant great grandson Jack Buchanan; step-daughter Winifred Sharp and a grandson Craig Sharp. Sheila was a passionate member of the community, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother. Her family, church family, and community were her life's work.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 2:00 pm from St. George's Anglican Church, Bairdsville, NB. Rev. Robert LeBlanc officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. George's Anglican Cemetery or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
