WHITE: William (Bill) Arthur White of Swift Current, SK, passed away at the age 83 years, on April 27, 2013, at the Cypress Regional Hospital. The funeral service was held on May 3rd, from St. Olaf Lutheran Church, with Pastor's Greg Keil and Linda Hall officiating. The organist was Arlie Neufeld, and music was sung by Joyce Oleson. Pastor Greg Keil read the euglogy, ushers were Murray Senicar, Elmer Meyer, and Tillman Moe. The interment was held at Memory Gardens with Lenard Ward, Shane Hilmoe, Darrell Reynolds, Ron Smith, Doug Eidem and Gary Horvey as active pallbearers, and the honorary pallbearers were the Prairie Pioneer Kiwanis and the Skandinavian Club. Bill is survived by his wife Jean; children, Rick, Derris (Judy), and Shannon (Albert) Headrick; grandchildren; Michael, Jeff, Tony, Christina, Melanie, Jeremy, and Kelsie; great grandchildren, Jake, Aaron, and Pierce; sister, Alice (Bob) Heard; and sister in law, Ruby Beck. He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Maude White; in laws, Anton and Prudence Haaseth; infant son, Calvin; granddaughter, Pamela; brother, Jack Beck; sisters Burna and Lillian; and brother in law, Oscar Hilmoe. Bill was born on January 20th, 1930, on the home farm in the Kyle district, to Arthur and Maude White. He took his first two years of schooling at Horse Butte and then in Russelton. On November 4th, 1955 he married Jean Haaseth in the Swift Current United Church. Bill worked for local farmers and helped on the home farm, and in July 1949, he had a harvest excursion to Ontario. Bill worked in various positions including some winters in bush in Alberta, Wheat Pool Elevators in White Bear and Matador, farmed Jean's father's land, Pioneer Co-op as a delivery truck driver, South Side Service Station, 4th West Service Station, Manager of Mall Service Station until retirement. He was an active member of the Prairie Pioneer Kiwanis and the Skandinavian Clubs. He enjoyed wood working, camping, fishing, gardening, boating, spending time with family, especially the grandchildren. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the St. Olaf Lutheran Church Building Fund, or to a charity of the donor's choice. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
