BRYANT, IONA M. ALFREDA (LeBLANC) - March 25, 1921 - May 6, 2013 - It is with great sadness that the family of Iona Bryant, (92) of Moncton, NB, announces her passing on May 6, 2013. Iona was born in Chartersville (Dieppe) and was the daughter of the late Jacques and Hilda (Robinson) LeBlanc. Iona was hardworking and strong woman who was dedicated to her family. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years as a clerk with Canada Post, in Moncton. She had many passions, she loved her flower and vegetable gardens and sitting on her front veranda on Shirley Avenue chatting with her neighbors and friends passing by. She is survived by five children; Eileen Lemoine (Andre) of Ottawa, Ontario, Wayne Bryant (Jackie) of Dollards des Ormeaux, Quebec, Ron Bryant of Moncton, Deborah Bryant (Brian) of Ottawa Ontario, Sharon McQuinn (Richard) of Upper Coverdale, NB; six grandchildren Mark Lemoine, Michel Bryant (Marisol), Mathew McQuinn (Chantal), Courtney McQuinn (Melvyn), and Alyson and Sean Bryant; five great grandchildren Christopher Moase-McQuinn, Cole and Samantha Copeman, Amy and Phillip Bryant. Iona will also be sadly missed by her only surviving sister Loretta Melanson. In addition to her parents, Iona was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) in 2001 and her son Robert (Bob) in 1992. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at Fair Haven Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 14 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow in the Garden View Reception Room.
