Passed peacefully away on Friday, May 10th, 2013 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, Laura Clara Mercer at the age of 81. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her 4 children: Sherry Collett, Rick Mercer, William Mercer jr. (Pamela), Kerry Mercer; 4 grandchildren: Tierayn (Tyson), Desiree (Shawn), Dawson, Gannon, 1 great grandson Jackson; sisters: Frances Brake (Selwyn Crocker), Maudie Knee (Ben), Ruth Saunders (Harry), Doily Penny (Don), Peggy Hussey (Tom); brothers: Gilbert Baldwin (Shirley), Dan Baldwin (Ethel); sisters-in-law Anita Baldwin, Yvonne Saunders; and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William Mercer in 2004, parents John Joseph & Gertrude Baldwin, sister Ida Gough and husband Selby, brothers; Bud, Dave and wife Barbara, Mick, Archie and brother-in-law Jim Brake. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 14th at 2:00 pm from the First United Church, Park Street, with Rev. Harry Whitehorn officiating followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
