D’Arcy John Dighans was born in Midale, SK on June 6, 1953 to John and Irma Dighans. He grew up on a farm 41/2 miles south of Rockglen, SK. D’Arcy was the oldest of three children, having two younger sisters, Monica and Kathryn. He completed most of his schooling in Rockglen and was known as a very rambunctious child. This energy continued throughout his teen and adult years. On July 8, 1978 D’Arcy married the love of his life and mother of his children, Carol Morhart. D’Arcy and Carol were blessed with a family of four daughters, Felica, Candace, Stacy and Brandee, three grandchildren, Christopher, Sean and Mary and a great granddaughter, Lillith. D’Arcy, Carol and their family have lived in a variety of places, including Moose Jaw, Tuxford, Mossbank and for the past 17 years, Weyburn, SK. D’Arcy spent much of his adult life dipping into many different careers. He tried his hand at everything, from owning his own construction company, pipe lining to delivering pizzas. He was always open to learning new information about the things he was most passionate about. He was passionate and skilled in all areas of his different careers but was most frequently known as a trucker. He finished his working career at Swayze’s in Weyburn. D’Arcy’s main focus in life was usually his work but in his free time he enjoyed, wood working, tinkering with various ATV’s as well as spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. In his early years, D’Arcy was involved with stock car racing, a passion he shared with and passed on to his children. D’Arcy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He touched the lives of everyone he met and will be dearly missed. D’Arcy lost his battle with Cancer on May 24, 2013. “The pain has been replaced with peace and may you rest easy.” D’Arcy was predeceased by his father, John Dighans; infant brother, D’Arcy John; sister, Kathryn and mother-in-law, June Morhart. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years, Carol of Weyburn, SK; daughter, Felica (Michael) Gallant of Brooks, AB and their son, Chistopher and his daughter, Lillith and son, Sean and his daughter, Mary; daughter, Candace Dighans of Weyburn, SK; daughter, Stacy (Tyson) Belak of Saskatoon, SK; daughter, Brandee Dighans of Weyburn, SK; mother, Irma Dighans of Regina, SK; sister, Monica (Bob) Tipple of Regina, SK and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. Prayers were said on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 7:00PM and a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, May 29th, 2013. Both were held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Gerry Bauche presiding. Interment followed at Rockglen Cemetery, Rockglen, SK.
