Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre in Harbour Breton on Thursday, June 6, 2013, Mr. Gordon Jackman (Sr.) age 92 years of Harbour Breton, formerly of Grole. Leaving to mourn his loving family: sons, Douglas (Doreen) at Grand Bank, Gordon (Marilyn) and Wayne at Harbour Breton, Harvey (Bella) at CBS, Clifford (Mary) at Harbour Breton, Gary (Vira) at Springdale, Geoffery (Joanne) at Winterland, and Dan (Brenda) at Harbour Breton; daughters, Shirley (Nathan Fudge) at Marystown, Mary (Willie Jensen), Ruth (Lewis Snook) and Kay, all at Harbour Breton; twenty six grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren; daughter in law, Mildred Jackman at Dartmouth, NS; brothers, Thomas (Effie) at Harbour Breton and Harvey (Roma) at Hillview; sisters in law, Olive Bobbett at KM Homes, St. Alban’s and Blanche Jackman at Harbour Breton; special person, Carolyn Fowlow, at Milltown who frequently visited him; plus a large number of other relatives and friends.
Predeceased by his wife, Susanna Jane; sons, Henry and Lloyd; daughter in law, Elizabeth; brothers, Joseph, Clyde and Ted; sister, Rita.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Bartholomew’s Furnace Fund.
Funeral service was held on Monday, June 10, 2013, at 11:00 am from St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church with Rev. Juanita Freeman officiating. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery at Harbour Breton.
