Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Predeceased by husband Dr. Edward Aidan MacLaughlin, parents James Joseph Browne and Grace Darling Fitzmaurice, as well as brother Valentine Browne and sister-in-law Eithne Knowling. Leaving to mourn, daughters: Karen Coates (Conan), Deirdre (Cabot Martin), Ismay Bligh (Peter), Wolfville, NS; sons: Shane, Wollongong NSW, Australia, James (Patti), Scarbourough and Brendan, Vancouver, British Columbia; grandchildren: Andrew, Christopher and Brendan Coates, Mathew Bligh (Sheena), David Bligh (Sarah Campbell) and Sarah Bligh, Erika (Lawrence Tung) and Christina MacLaughlin as well as brother Ivor Browne, Dublin, Ireland and sister-in-law Anne Dorey Southhampton, England, as well as many relatives and friends in Ireland, England, South Africa, Vancouver and The United States. Ismay leaves many good and close friends in both Newfoundland and away. Ismay was born in Sandy Cove, Co. Dublin, Ireland on August 7th, 1925. She immigrated to Canada arriving in St. John’s, Newfoundland in 1954 but always maintained close ties to her family, friends and culture in Ireland. She is remembered by all who knew her as a strong, active person who enjoyed gardening, tennis, swimming and music. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation will take place Saturday, June 15 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, June 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, June 17 at
