SEARS, CECILIA SADIE (LEBLANC) - October 20, 1920 - June 15, 2013 - With sad but settled hearts, the family of Cecilia Sears of Dieppe (formerly of Gayton's) passed away at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the age of 92. Born in Gayton's, she was the daughter of the late Freddie White and the late Sarah MacDonald. She will be sadly missed by her children: Jack Sears of Waltham, Mass., Dianna (late Thomas) Boudreau of Waltham, Mass., Donna (Alonzo) Cormier of Dieppe, Jimmy (Bernice) Sears of Quispamsis, Wayne (Dianne LeBlanc) Sears of Dieppe, Micheal (Jeannette) Sears of Memramcook, Danny (Jeannette Fernandez) Sears of Miramichi, Linda (Fred) Bourque of Memramcook, David (Yolande) Sears of Memramcook, Steven (Josette Leger) Sears of Moncton, Nancy Blakeley of Riverview and Denis (Tami) Sears of Riverview. She was proud and blessed with 39 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Cecilia always enjoyed the company of friends and family with a cup of tea and chat. A wonderful cook, she learned to feed crowds as a young wife. She was a great organizer and hardworking mother for whom her family is truly blessed and grateful. She was predeceased by her husband, Vernon (1987); one daughter, Carolyn; one grandson, Joshua; one daughter-in-law, Catherine; and by her sisters and brothers: Roddy, Christina, Ronald, Gene, Wilfred, Billy, Jenny and Mary.
Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home, 15 Route La Vallée, Memramcook on Tuesday, June 18 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. There will be no visitation before the funeral mass that will be held at Saint-Thomas de Memramcook Church, St.-Joseph on Wednesday, June 19 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in Saint-Thomas de Memramcook Cemetery, St.-Joseph. The family would like to thank the Residence Bellevue Nursing Home for their special care of our mother. Your staff made Mom feel like she was a part of a special family where she felt safe and secure. For that we are forever grateful. We would also like to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses who provided exceptional care of our mother. A special thank you to Mom's operating room angel, Jeannette. Your kindness will never be forgotten. And last but not least, the staff of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Palliative Care Unit, you helped make Mom's journey from this world as comfortable as possible. Your care and compassion can never be measured in our lifetime. Thank you. Donations to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
