It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of my wife and our mother, Barbara Anne (Murray) Webber on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Port Hawkesbury, she was the daughter of the late Robert 'Bob' and Elizabeth (Bessie Warner) Murray.
Barbara was a caring person who was always willing to help others. She was a talented craftsperson who enjoyed pottery, cooking, painting and crocheting. She will be remembered for her strawberry jam by family and those fortunate enough to have tasted it. In earlier years Barbara worked for Zellers in the photography department, owned and operated 'The Store’ convenience on Sandfield Road.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Kendall; the two lights of her life, daughter, Elizabeth, at home and son, Jonathan, Sydney; sisters, Vera (Paul) Stien, Truro, Muriel (Vora), Maryland; brother, Lyle (Estelle) Murray, Ottawa. Also surviving is her mother-in-law, Anne Webber; sisters-in-law, Judi Webber, Paula Carroll (Albert) and brother-in-law, Grant Webber (Sarah) and her nephews, Robert Hillman, Jordan and Eric Murray, Russell Carroll, Christian Webber and nieces, Mary Webber, Rebecca Carroll and goddaughter, Kathleen Hillman.
She was predeceased by a brother, Phillip in infancy and father-in-law, Newton Webber.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held for Barbara Anne Webber at St. Columba Presbyterian Church, Marion Bridge at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 22 with Rev. Lydia MacKinnon.
