The family of the late Ernestine Frances (Shute) Jones regret to announce her passing on June 15, 2013. Born in St. John’s on July 9, 1927, Ernestine was the daughter of the late Beatrice Mary (Mullett) Shute and Ernest Shute Sr. She leaves to mourn, sisters: Irene Hart (Mt. Pearl, NL), Marie Cornick (Halifax, NS); and sisters-in-law: May Shute, Lillian Shute, and Ruth Shute (NL). Besides her parents, Ernestine was predeceased by husband Gerald Jones; brothers Gordon, Alister, Glynn and Ernest Jr.; sister Mildred (Ross) Fisher. Cremation has taken place. Private funeral at a later date. Burial in the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road, St. John’s. Special thanks to her close friend Phyllis (Henry) Deering, Shearstown, CB for their care and dedication before and during Ernestine’s stay at Callingwood Downs. Also, thanks to the management and staff of Callingwood Downs for their excellent care while Ernestine was with them.
