COOK, JEAN BETTY - Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB with her family by her side, Mrs. Jean Betty (Hubbard) Cook, wife of Mr. Clyde Cook of Back Bay NB. Born at St. George, NB on October 19, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Delang and Catherine (Fraser) Hubbard. A loving wife, sister and aunt, in addition to her husband, Clyde, she is survived by one brother, John (Joan) Hubbard of Oshawa ON, four sisters; Gladys Boles of Utopia NB, Connie Kendall of Sussex NB, Catherine Reynard of Pembrooke ON and Betty Jean Collett of Etobicoke ON, three aunts; Eva Robichaud of Nova Scotia, Emily Fraser and Eunice Fraser both of New Brunswick and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jean was predeceased by one brother, Harry “Bud” Hubbard and by one sister, Irene Leslie. Prior to retirement, Jean worked for several years at Connor’s Bros. in Back Bay. She was an avid reader and was known for her cooking, especially her chowders and lobster rolls. She was a woman of deep faith and will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Sunday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating, followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home will take place on Saturday from 6 to 9 pm. In Jean's memory, donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. (www.stgeorgefh.ca)
