LORD, RICHARD "DICKIE" PERCY - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB on July 14, 2013, Mr. Richard “Dickie” Percy Lord, husband of Mrs. Germaine Lord of Northern Harbour, NB. Born at Blacks Harbour, NB on August 28, 1960, he was a son of the late George and Betty (Keating) Lord. A loving husband, father and brother, in addition to his wife Germaine, he is survived by his daughter, Hannah Lord of Northern Harbour, NB, three brothers; David (Leah) Lord, Darell (Loretta) Lord and Roger Lord all of Deer Island, NB, two sisters: Joyce Wilcox (John Guiver) of Alberta and Doreen (Gordon) Richardson of St. Andrews, NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Gary Lord. Prior to his illness, Dickie was employed with Cooke’s Aquaculture as a labourer and had previously been employed with the D.O.T. as a deckhand on the Deer Island Ferries for many years. He was a loving family man who spent many evenings at home with his friends and family playing his guitar and singing with anyone who would join in. He loved being on the water, boating or fishing and spending time with his loved ones.
As keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A service will be held at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery at Calder’s Head, NB on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating. In Dickie’s memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Charlotte County Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
