ROBERT (BOB) IRVING ROBSON
August 7, 1933 to August 5, 2013

Bob passed away peacefully in Prince Albert, SK on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the age of 79. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn, and his daughter Carolyn (Lee) Knafelc of Saskatoon, and his son Shawn of Prince Albert. Bob is also survived by his brothers Donald (Verley) of Saskatoon and Keith (Marcie) of Swift Current; his sister Beverly Smith of Melville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Irving and Maggie Belle (Killoh) Robson; brother-in-law Bill Smith; and nephew Donald Craig (Donnie) Robson. Bob was born on August 7, 1933 at Loreburn. After graduation from Prince Albert Collegiate Institute, Bob began a successful career with SaskTel which would span almost 35 years and take him to communities across Saskatchewan, culminating in his retirement as Manager of Operations for Operations North, based in Prince Albert. Bob’s passion in life was hockey. As a player, scout and manager he helped to establish and further hockey programs in Regina, Moosomin, Prince Albert, Penticton, Estevan, Medicine Hat, La Ronge and other locations around Saskatchewan. A gifted coach and trainer, Bob recognized and nurtured hockey talent in many young men, and was instrumental in launching many successful hockey careers. The Robson family would like to thank all of those who provided care and support during Bob’s illness. A celebration of Bob’s life will take place at Prince Albert Alliance Church, 2777 6th Avenue West, on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prince Albert Group Homes Society Inc. (203 – 31st Street East, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 8A8).
