We the family of Jean Unice Matthews regret to announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Ward) Bushell, and a lifelong resident of Tobin Road.
Mom was an avid bingo player who enjoyed the company of her many bingo friends.
Mom is survived by her seven children, Les (Emma), Pauline (Charlie) Kelland, Barbara, Mary (Gus) Phillips, Debbie (Spencer Young) Oickle, Sandy (Kim), Charlie (Sandra); daughter-in-law, Naomi; 22 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and one brother James (Sandra) Bushell.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, Leslie (1958), son, Robert, brothers, Charles, George, Johnny, sisters, Annie, Susie, Caroline, Ethel and grandsons, Joey and Stephen.
Special thanks to Dr. Doug Kolsmith for his many years of excellent care. We would also like to thank Dr. Khan, Northside General ER staff and paramedics.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines, Rev. S. Lemoine will officiate. Interment in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Tobin Road.
Family flowers only. The family requests that instead of flowers that a memorial donation is made to Haley Street Adult Center or a charity of choice.
