Carolyn Rochon

Lieu de décès : Qualicum Beach, Colombie Britannique, Canada
Date de décès : 3 août 2013

Carolyn Claire Pogson Rochon peacefully passed away Saturday, August 3rd, 2013 in Qualicum Beach surrounded by family. She was born August 19, 1946 in Victoria.
Predeceased by her parents, Roy Pogson in 2008, and Ruby Pogson in 2000; Carolyn is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years, Christopher, and her children Michelle (Kevin) Andersen, Michael (Cheryl) and Mark (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Christopher, Stephen and Grace Andersen, Jason, Brandon, Charlyn and Michaela Rochon and Jared and Ethan Rochon. She is also survived by her brother Jim (Joan) and sister Judy (Kerry) and their families.
Carolyn and Chris married in Victoria in 1966. Their life journey took them over much of British Columbia and into Alberta for nearly 35 years. Carolyn started as an elementary school teacher in Victoria and moved through most levels of education including instructing at the Drumheller Penitentiary, teaching French to junior high students in Grande Prairie, opening the Adult Education Center in Manning, Alberta and finishing her career as the Principal at Northern Lights College in Dawson Creek. Learning was very important to Carolyn and no one who wanted to learn would ever be turned away.
In 2006, Carolyn and Chris moved back to Vancouver Island, where they enjoyed the milder climate and the ocean. Grandpa Pogson wondered what had taken them so long (a 39 year hiatus).
A celebration of Carolyn’s life was held at McCall’s Sequoia Gardens Memorial, Victoria, on Thursday, August 8, 2013 with Pastor Mark Leverton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wheels for Wellness, 1894 Bolt Avenue, Comox, B.C., V9M 2J4.
Condolences for the family may be offered at www.sequoiagardens.com.
