It is with deep sadness that we, the family of Louise (Murray) Parsons, announce her passing, peacefully on Oct. 17, 2013, surrounded by
her family.
Born and raised in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Rosie (Popwell) Murray. Louise worked in the financial services
industry for several years before retiring from the Department of Transportation and Communications in 1998. Louise was an exceptional mother and a very kind and giving person, always putting the needs of others before her own. She enjoyed bowling and was an excellent dart player. Louise loved music and was a talented piano player, often sharing her gift of play with her family and friends at many parties over the years. She was an amazing lady who touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Louise is survived by her only child, daughter, Sandra Abbass (Paul McNamara) and special step-granddaughter, Abby; sister, Ann (Pierre
Lemieux); brothers, Kevin (Maureen), Tommy (Gen) and Joe (Shirley);
sisters-in-law, Genevieve Parsons and Annette Smith, as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Louise is
also survived by her daughter, Sandra’s father, Ron Abbass.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Parsons; her parents, Peter and Rosie (Popwell) Murray; a sister, Elizabeth and a nephew, Bradley Murray.
There will be no visitation. A funeral mass to celebrate Louise’s life will take place on Monday, Oct. 21st at 11 a.m. at Saint Anthony Daniel Parish, 105 Alexandra St., Sydney, with a reception to follow at Chant’s Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honour of Louise, to the Palliative Care unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney, N.S.
