It is with great sorrow that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of Cornelis Marinus 'John' Moor on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, with his loving wife and
her daughter, Kimberley, by his side.
Born in Delft, Holland, he was the son of the late Gysbertus and Neeltje (Boon) Moor.
John was a businessman, managing car dealerships for almost 30 years, then owing his own restaurant before retiring to Cape Breton. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Glancey) Moor; his children, Guy, Richard 'Dick', Timothy and Derrick; his stepchildren, Kimberley (Brad Cullen) and Christopher; as well as nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Wilhelmina Schouten; brother, Arie; special niece, Nellie; dear friend, Blair (Cathy); as well as his pets, Sydney and Casey. He will be loved and remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his siblings, Richard, Dirk (Jannie), Neeltje; sister-in-law, Rika, brother-in-law, Dim Schouten.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with Rev. Sheldon
