COULTON, VIOLA JEAN - With sadness, the family of Viola Coulton wish to announce her passing at the Fundy Nursing Home on November 4, 2013. Viola was born in Seal Cove, Grand Manan on May 29, 1924. She was the only child of Susie (Tidd) and Arnold Ingersoll. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ray of Pennfield, N.B. and her only son, Carmen. Viola attended school in Grand Manan and Lebec, Me. and lived all of her married life in Blacks Harbour and Pennfield. Her last residence was Granite Court Senior’s Complex, St. George. Throughout the years, she had been employed at Connors Bros (Tunaville) and Collingwood Nursing Home (Pennfield). She is survived by her grandchildren, Dan (Sherry) Coulton of Rothesay and Shannon Coulton (Jason Logan) of Rusagonis, as well as three great-grandchildren, Danielle and Coulton Mann and Emma Coulton. Viola is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Carolyn (Austin) McKay of Petitcodiac and two sisters-in-law, Mary Vickers and Marie Coulton. Viola was a faithful member of the Pennfield United Baptist Church until her health deteriorated and she was confined to the Fundy Nursing Home. She will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, a quality which has been inherited by her family members.
The family will be receiving friends and visitors during the hours of 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Pennfield United Baptist Church in Pennfield and a celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 p.m, following the visitation period. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
