JOHANNA MILLER
Johanna Miller passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the age of 84 with her children by her side. Born September 25, 1929 in Tweedsmuir, SK, Johanna was the youngest of three children born to Adalbert and Josephine Honetschlager. Johanna will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband George; and infant son Lloyd; her brother Erwin Honetschlager; her son Conrad Miller; her daughter Beaulah Crnec, and her parents. Johanna is survived by her children Allan Miller of Birch Bay, Linda Stephen (Ron McQueen) of Prince Albert, Gloria (Rob) Garand of Prince Albert, Ray (Shelley) Miller of Prince Albert; her daughter-in-law Shirley Miller, her sister Shirley Woods; her two brothers Albert Honetschlager and Erik Honetschlager; her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Johanna’s life revolved around the nurturing love, devotion and compassion she had toward her family and friends. As the Miller children fondly reflect, they remember annual camping vacations to Emma Lake, road trips to visit relatives in Wisconsin, and a few west coast mountain adventures. Johanna and George’s most memorable holiday was when they went to Hawaii to celebrate their 40th anniversary – a trip of a lifetime that they talked about for many years. Johanna was also an avid sports fan. She enjoyed watching Blue Jay games and all other sports on TV, but in her earlier years she loved spending hours in hockey rinks and gymnasiums cheering her grandchildren on from the bleachers. And when she wasn’t doing the sports thing, she was playing cards or baking and decorating sugar cookies with her grandchildren. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and made sure to spend precious one-on-one time with each and every one of them – memories they are blessed to have. Johanna truly touched and enriched our lives with her unconditional love, kindness, generosity and sincerity. She’s admired for her strength and courage through many of life’s challenges, and was truly a remarkable lady who will be greatly missed. Johanna is someone to all of us – a Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt or Friend. A woman with a kind generous spirit; someone to cherish beyond life’s end. So today we give many thanks to the good Lord up above for lending us His precious angel and giving us someone so incredible to love. A special thank you to the staff of Nelson’s Care Home, Dr. Smith-Windsor, Dr. Gordon Surkan, and the team of nurses on the 6th floor at the Victoria Hospital for your professional care and compassion toward our mother’s palliative needs. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity of your choice. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13 from River Park Memorial Chapel. Reverend Tony Thompson will officiate. Interment will take place in the Garden of Devotion, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Colette Kadziolka, Funeral Director.
