WALKER, AUGUSTUS - It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Augustus Horace Walker, age 93, dearly loved husband of the late Margaret (McLellan) Walker, of Cambridge-Narrows, NB, which occurred peacefully at his home in Hanwell, NB, on Saturday, November 9, 2013, with his daughter by his side. He was born on December 16, 1919, in Biggleswade, England, the son of the late James and Florence (Farr) Walker. He is survived by his six loving daughters: Margaret Dykeman of Hanwell, NB, Florence "Betty" Chiswell and her husband Howard of Big Cove, NB, Ann Christensen of Cardinal, ON, Augusta Smith of Big Cove, NB, Isabel Churcher and her husband Grant of North Bay, ON, Claire Walker of Sudbury, ON; sixteen grandchildren: Stanley Dykeman (Stacey Mowatt), Margaret Briggs (Brian), James Dykeman (Jacqueline Hall), Marion Magee (Scott), Elizabeth Campbell (Stephen), Augustus Chiswell (Alicia), Simon Chiswell (Erin), Ian Christensen (Jennifer), Dana Christensen (Tamara), Sybil Smith (Michael Touchbourne), Julea Smith, Victoria Allen (Gerald), Rebecca Mason (Donald), Andrew Smith, Mary Smith (Tony Bryall), Alexander Churcher; thirty great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother James and sister Christine Murley.
He is resting at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Cambridge-Narrows, with visiting on Thursday, November 14, 2013 from 3 to 8pm. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Sandra Hounsell-Drover, will be held from the Church, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013, interment will follow in adjoining cemetery. Sherwood's Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre, (506-839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton are entrusted with arrangements.
