GAETZ: Terrence "Terry" Cecil Gaetz, age 72, of Swift Current, passed away November 14, 2013 at the Cypress Regional Hospital. The Memorial Service was held Wednesday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Snyder officiating. Special music was preformed by Dave Smith and a life tribute was presented by Cassidy and Landis Sather. Honorary Pallbearers were all who shared in Terry's life. The Interment service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Terry is survived by his son Brad (Trica) Gaetz of Swift Current, Sk.; grandchildren Brooklyn and Tyson; sisters-in-law Barb (Les) Wotherspoon and Judy Sather; brother-in-law Landis (Kim) Sather all of Swift Current, Sk.; nieces Jamie Horne, Cassidy and Laila Sather, and Christie Kurney; nephews Peter and Greg Sather and Jeff and John Sather. He was predeceased by his wife Dianne in 2005, daughter Dawna in 1984; his mother Anne and father Cecil Gaetz. Terry was born in Swift Current on September 24, 1941. He attended school at St. Patrick and W.A Beatty Collegiate. He was united in married to Dianne Sather on December 1, 1962 in Waldeck, Sk. Terry work for the City of Swift Current for 30 years and the Resort village of Beaver Flats for 8 years. Terry was a sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to play cards and socialize. His humour and wit was a bright light at any function and his tales are a source of great joy and laughter even today. Terry was in the Swift Current Care Centre for the last years of his life after a stroke. In his youth he had polio and his mobility was hampered by it but never slowed him down. He was easily pleased by the simple pleasures of life, his smokes, a drive in the country, visiting and reminiscing and he still had a glint in his eyes conversing about the past. He called the Care Centre home and loved the people who took care of him. In his memory, memorial donations may be made to the Swift Current Care Centre Auxiliary.
