Irv Brown aged 79 years, born in Pontrilas, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on November 18th, 2013 in Kamloops after suffering his third stroke in 15 months.

Irv will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Lois, his daughters Betty (Ron) Gustafson, Debby (John) Kenna, Jan Groves, grandchildren Matt (Meg), Pam (Rob), Angela (Brent), Amy (Bobby), Brittany, great-grandchildren Carter, Lila, MacKenzie, Malin and Nash, sister Ruby (Norman) White of Armley, Saskatchewan as well as many relatives and friends.

He is predeceased by his first wife Lona, brother Clarke and his father and mother, Roman and Johanne Brown.

Irv was well known and respected in the financial community with his family-oriented, easygoing style of banking during the years he managed the Dogwood Credit Union at the "Government Yard" on Columbia Street. Many younger folks meeting him in the street even recently still reminded Irv that he had given them their first mortgageÖhe believed in them when they needed it most. He always took time for people; his compassion and kindness, his ready smile - all defining characteristics of the wonderful man that he was. Irv was always very aware that he had lost his own Dad at the age of three and as a result, always responded quickly to others in need. He had learned to rise above so many challenges of his own childhood, modelling the example of a loving widowed mother who raised three young children in those difficult depression years. What a guy. We will all miss him so very much!

Celebration of Irv's Life will be held at the Kamloops Alliance Church on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
