Salsman, Ruth Earlena - age 81 years of Mountain Lee Lodge in Bridgetown, passed away peacefully at the Valley Regional Hospital on December 8, 2013. Born on September 21, 1932 in Port Lorne; she was the daughter of the late Elvin and Tarasa (Lewis) Sabean. Ruth worked for many years at Graves Foods as well as the Aylesford fruit factory and the Berwick Pear canning factory. Ruth loved to bake, read and travel. Left with many special and loving memories are her children Donna Dagley (Everin) of Waterville, Earl Salsman of Kingston, Sharon Zwicker (Junior) of Waterville, Barbara Croft (Donald) of New Minas, Roxanne Salsman (Charlie Hutt) of Greenwood, Patricia Salsman of Vancouver; Gerald Salsman of Aylesford East and Joan Scotney (Albert) of Weston; sister Zeda Lilly of Bridgetown; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; also by several nieces, nephews. Predeceased by her husband Earl in 2005; daughter Daisy; sons Roy, Paul and Jackie; brothers Murwin and Alvin; sisters Havavine, Jean, Mary and Bernice. Visitation was held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 7-9pm at the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick Chapel. A private family service will be held at a later date with burial in the Berwick Cemetery. The family would like to thank the surgeons and staff on Medical Floor A at the Valley Regional Hospital for all their love, care and support shown to Ruth and the family during her stay.
