BECKER, MANFRED - It is with deep sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing of Manfred Becker, of Port Elgin. Manfred passed away at the Westford Nursing Home, surrounded by loving family on Monday, December 23, 2013, 4 days before his 87th birthday. Born in Glasshuette, Germany, he was a son of the late Karl-Anton and Maria (Nink) Becker. He will be sadly missed by his wife Dorothea (Schawohl), Port Elgin; children Helmut (Dina Leisch), Upper Cape, Dieter (Katherine), Mates Corner; Arndt (Gabriele), Portage, NB, Sabine (Andrew) Lavoie, Dieppe, NB, Gerhard (Neva), Bedford, NS, Stephan (Bonnie), Davis Road, NB; 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother Eberhard (Ruth), Kulmbach, Germany; sister Irmela Danowski, Haltern, Germany. He was predeceased by grandson Benjamin Becker; sister Sigrid Glaubitz.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place, and a funeral service for Manfred will be held at the Jones Funeral Center, Port Elgin, NB (506-538-2241) on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2 pm, Wayne Jarvis, DLM officiating.
