FERRIS, ALICE GRACE - Surrounded by her family, Alice Grace Ferris (nee Webster), passed away peacefully on December 26, 2013 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Alice was born on July 30, 1931 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Ira and Olive Webster. Upon returning to Canada, her parents settled in Wickham, NB. She married the love of her life, the late Ottie Ferris, in 1947 and spent the rest of her life working side by side with her at the family farm in Waterborough, NB. Alice loved her Lord Jesus Christ, people dropping in unexpectedly, cooking big meals, travelling with her sister Pauline, reading, and of course, her family. She is survived by her sisters Pauline Perry, (Coles Island) and Lillian Vail (Coles Island), her children Donna (Stephen) Ritchie of Hampton, Marion (Larry) Connell of Codys, and her son Steven (Melody) of Mill Cove. Her 9 grandchildren: Greg (Stacy) Long, Cherie (Craig) Sooley, Jason (Vickie) Dufour; Julie (Tom) Graves, Michael (Colleen) Connell, Mark (Danielle) Connell, Andrew Connell, and Sara Connell; and Kyle Ferris; as well as 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother Alden, as well as several brother and sister in laws.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Chipman Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the Mill Cove Church of God from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Saturday, Dec 28th, 2013. A Celebration of her life will be held Sunday, Dec. 29th, from Mill Cove Church of God at 2 pm, with Rev. Aubrey Trail officiating.
