Bessie Leaman
LEAMAN, BESSIE - It is with sadness, the family of Bessie Almeda Alice Leaman, age 81, of Kingston, NB announces her passing which occurred on December 25, 2013, at her residence. She was born on March 30, 1932 in St. Andrews, NB, the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy (Libby) Storr. Bessie is survived by her daughters Louise Corbin and her husband Doug of Kentville, NS, Rosemary Galbraith and her husband Jeff of Saint John, NB; sons Victor Leaman and his wife Judy of Rothesay, NB, Greg Leaman of Fredericton, NB, Raymond Leaman of Saint John, NB; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters Francis, Rose, Marjorie, Ruth; brother Willard and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons Gilbert and Richard; sisters Barb and Mary; and brothers Stephen and Jack. Bessie's love for her family was evident in many ways. You could always find her in the middle of the many family gatherings, enjoying the food, fun, and laughter. She was always there for her children any time they needed her or needed advice. She was a faithful member of the Anglican Church attending regularly. She was faithfully involved with the church and was committed to do whatever she was asked to do. A member of the "Keenagers" of Kingston, she enjoyed the many day trips and social events planned for the group. She was a member of the Peninsula Pearls, The Kingston ACW and the Royal Canadian Legion of Moss Glen. She was well known in the community for her involvement in these groups as well as her participation to help raise funds for various causes. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Kingston Parish Hall, 3946 Route 845, Kingston, on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8pm. Funeral service, conducted by The Rev. J. Peter Gillies, will be held from Trinity Anglican Church, Kingston, NB at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 2, 2014. Interment will take place in Trinity Cemetery in the spring.
