WILLIAMS, ADOLPHE - On December 27, 2013, surrounded by his family, Adolphe Williams passed away peacefully at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire George L. Dumont in Moncton, N.B. A resident of Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Aimé and Clara (Mallet) Williams. Predeceased by his wife, Lucienne Savoie (2010), and two brothers, Edgar and George, he is survived by his five children: Linda Williams (Paul Cormier), Yvon Williams (Nora), Carmelle Daigle (O’Neil), Gisèle Foreman (Neil) and Anita Allain (Laurie); six grandchildren: Angèle, Richard, Jules, Michelle, Nicholas and Marc-André; and three great-grandchildren: Ella, Jacob and Abbey. Adolphe is also survived by four brothers: Léo, Luc, Éloi (Frank) and David, all residents of Ontario. He also leaves his special friend Lorette LeBlanc and his cousin Alexis Richard. As a member of the North Shore Regiment, Adolphe fought overseas in France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands during the Second World War. Adolphe served the Canadian Army proudly and he was decorated for his bravery at a ceremony in 1995 in Ottawa where he received l’Ordre National du mérite, signed by the president of France at the time, Francois Mitterrand.
Honouring Adolphe's own wishes there will only be visitation on the day of the funeral service. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 3rd, 2014 from 1:30 pm to 3:45 pm at the Maillet Funeral Home followed by the service at the Saint Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic church in Bouctouche, N. B. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Bouctouche Food Bank.
